Once again Hello Charlie won the graphics and branding content pitch for the EMAs 2017. This year MTV came to London at the iconic Wembley Arena. Hello Charlie developed a creative based around an ‘Urban Art’ form. From graffiti to fly posters, the eclectic and diverse streets of London became the inspiration for the show creative. Hello Charlie specially shot the city streets, filming and capturing photography that would form the backbone of the shows identity. Along side the reportage photography we developed a range of illustrated characters and London centric iconography that were brought to life through stop frame animated techniques and designed into the walls and fabric of the city. The logotype and show brand evolved from a traditional sign writing aesthetic, employing a vibrant colour palette across all visual presentation assets, from lanyards and passes, to in venue branding and all social media channels. Continuing through to the live stage arena and all broadcast applications, our brand kit created a unified and cohesive visual approach that gave this years show an unrivalled continuity across all of its media output.
